How My Ratings Work

While star-ratings are pretty universal, each reviewer has their own thoughts as to what each star means.  Some grade purely on enjoyment, and others do a full-blown college lit analysis.

So, here is a general overview of what my ratings mean:

5 Stars - Brilliant! This book has compelling, relatable characters, an interesting plot, and the best writing. It also made me think and feel things that are bigger than the world within it. This is a book that has stuck with me long after I finished it.

4 Stars - I really liked and enjoyed this book, but it lacked a critical criterion for the 5-star rating. Most likely, it failed to make me journey to deeper levels with it.

3 Stars - This book was good. It made for an entertaining read, but I didn't connect with it, and it isn't one I'll be talking about much.

2 Stars - Eh. This book was ok. I managed to finish it, but I didn't really like it.

1 Star - I couldn't even finish this book because I hated it so much.
